- Interactions between staff and inmates should be logged in the jail computer system.
- Log entries should be entered by a staff member who participated in or observed the event.
- Rationale:
- A written record memorializes events.
- Accurate details of events may be required at a later time.
- In order to obtain the highest level of accuracy, log entries should be entered by those with first-hand knowledge of the events being logged.
