CA 03_101 DEFINITIONS
- WCSO: Washington County Sheriff's Office
- PCF: Purgatory Correctional Facility
- OIC: Officer In Charge
- IPP: Inmate Placement and Programs
CA 03_102 GENERAL
- Policy:
- The WCSO should hold regularly scheduled meetings to address operational needs.
- Meetings in addition to regularly scheduled meetings should be held to address atypical issues or unforeseen events.
- Rationale:
- Regular communication and/or resolution of events and/or issues may improve operational efficiencies for the WCSO.
- Not all topics will be appropriate for regularly scheduled meetings.
- Atypical issues or unforeseen events may need to be addressed before the next regularly scheduled meeting.
CA 03_103 SHIFT BRIEFING
- Policy:
- A shift supervisor or OIC who is scheduled to replace another supervisor or OIC should arrive for work fifteen minutes prior to the beginning of the scheduled shift for a shift briefing.
- Shift briefings should include the on-coming supervisor or OIC, the out-going supervisor or OIC, and any other staff that either supervisor or OIC deem appropriate.
- Rationale:
- An in-person meeting will allow for questions and answers to be communicated.
- Persons other than supervisors may be able to answer certain questions or recount events with more detail.
CA 03_104 SCHEDULE OF MEETINGS
- Policy:
- Meetings should be regularly scheduled as follows:
- Division Deputy Meeting: Once each quarter: March, June, September, and December. All certified and non-certified employees, sergeants, and managers of the division should attend. The conductor of the meeting should be a sergeant or manager. Selection of the conductor should be on a rotational basis.
- Division Sergeant Meeting: Twice each quarter: January, February, April, May, July, August, October, November. All managers, sergeants, and lieutenants of the division should attend. The conductor of the meeting should be a lieutenant. Selection of the conductor should be on a rotational basis.
- Division Lieutenant Meeting: Weekly. All lieutenants and the Corrections Chief Deputy should attend. The Corrections Chief Deputy should conduct.
- Facility Review Board Meeting: Monthly. The Housing Branch Lieutenant should select three inmates to present their issues to the Housing Branch Lieutenant and the Support Branch Lieutenant. Other supervisors may attend. The Housing Branch Lieutenant should conduct.
- Special Housing Committee Meeting: Weekly. Current committee members should attend. The Corrections Administrative Sergeant should conduct.
