CF 15_103 GENERAL
- Policy:
- Book and release orders shall be processed with a streamlined procedure.
- Book and release orders shall be performed on currently incarcerated inmates. All other book and releases will be processed at the Washington County Justice Court.
- Procedure:
- Verification:
- The validity of the book and release order shall be verified.
- The identification of the person to be booked and released (hereafter, referred to as offender) shall be verified via government-issued photo identification. A photo from the Spillman computer system may be used.
- Booking:
- All information for the offender in the Spillman computer system Names Table shall be created or updated. A new printout shall be included into the offender's booking file.
- Fingerprints shall be taken of the offender in the same manner as in the regular booking process.
- Documentation:
- The required information on book and release court order shall be completed.
- A copy of the completed court order shall be provided for the offender.
- A log entry shall be completed in the Spillman computer system (LOG with code: BAR) to include:
- Statement that the entry is for a “book and release;”
- Name of originating court (as stated on the court order);
- Court case number as identified on the order;
- All offenses listed on the order;
- OTN number.
